About Me
Greetings! I am Barbara Ohuninifa Pamplin, coach, author, speaker, and founder of Beautiful Powerful Love.
My life took an unexpected turn with the numbers 50, 3, and 3 when I survived an aortic dissection, which holds a 99% fatality rate. I endured 50 days in the ICU, underwent 3 open heart surgeries, and was brought back to life 3 times - all during the fall of 2017. The medical team still refers to me as a "miracle."
Then, in 2022, I faced health trauma once more with a rare, life-threatening adrenal gland tumor and the subsequent surgery. My path to these life-and-death experiences was one marked by the trauma I’ve experienced as well as trauma passed down through generations.
Now, overflowing with gratitude and a zest for life, I've embraced my call to thrive and not just survive. I've channeled my journey into helping others by sharing my story and insights. I penned a memoir and self-help guide, "From Fat, Black, and Unlovable to Beautiful Powerful Love," reflecting on the negative patterns and beliefs that weighed on me from a young age.
With my next book, The Power to Heal: A Woman’s Guide to Restoration After Trauma, available in 2024, I share more to uplift, educate, and inspire.
